In addition to snapping up Nikola’s former main office in Phoenix and its manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Ariz., Lucid said Friday it plans to offer jobs to more than 300 former Nikola employees.
Lucid boosted its factory incentives in the most recent quarter to an average of $12,877 per vehicle from $10,266 in the year-earlier period, Motor Intelligence said.
The recall covers the company’s All-Weather Floor Mats in the Lucid Air.
Tesla, Lucid and Rivian make their vehicles in the U.S. with significant domestic parts. But none of the EV brands are immune from tariff impacts.
Rivian and Lucid racked up billions in losses last year amid modest sales, rising factory incentives and growing uncertainty in the EV market.
Peter Rawlinson will also receive a company car as part of his two-year "transition agreement."
Lucid said COO Marc Winterhoff will be chief executive on an interim basis. The company’s stock rose 6 percent in after-hours trading on the news.
Despite improving sales and a new crossover, Lucid faces headwinds from the possible repeal of EV tax incentives by the Trump administration.
Fausto Bonomo, the electric-vehicle startup’s head of sales for Canada, said the three-row Gravity will “open up new opportunities” with the growing cohort of buyers who want a larger vehicle and higher seating position.
Lucid Gravity will join the Tesla Supercharger network on Jan. 31, gaining access to more than 20,000 fast chargers across the U.S. and Canada.
