At the Detroit auto show, worries and hope as UAW prepared to launch strike

DETROIT — On the day before the UAW launched its historic strike against all three Detroit automakers, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer toured the Detroit auto show and said she was hopeful a deal could be made.
