FTC action highlights rules for car dealerships hyping payments, APRs

This mailer was used by the FTC as an example of what the agency called Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z violations by marketer Traffic Jam Events. The FTC argued that the loan terms, bottom right, associated with the monthly and down payments next to the vehicles weren't prominent enough. Traffic Jam Events says it's not a creditor subject to the law and has appealed to the 5th U.S.  Circuit Court of Appeal after FTC Commissioners ruled 4-0 that the company had violated TILA.
