Humanoid robots are automotive industry’s new next frontier

BMW's work in testing humanoid robots in its Spartanburg, S.C. , factory is one of the first projects testing the integration of generalized robots in automotive manufacturing.
BMW Group is exploring the use of humanoid robots in production for the first time. During a trial run, a humanoid robot from California startup Figure successfully inserted sheet metal parts into specific fixtures, which were then assembled as components of a chassis. (BMW GROUP)
