U.S. vehicle travel fell 8.6% in Sept; lowest drop since pandemic start

WASHINGTON -- U.S. motorists drove 8.6 percent fewer miles in September, marking the lowest monthly decline since the coronavirus pandemic led millions of Americans to begin working from home in March.
