Tesla Q3 net income rises 17% to $2.2 billion; total revenue up 8% to $25.2 billion

Tesla Inc. reported third-quarter net income of $2.2 billion, up 17 percent compared with the same quarter last year. Shares in Tesla jumped more than 8 percent in extended trading Oct. 23 after the earnings report was released.
