President Donald Trump implemented a 25 percent tariff on vehicles built outside the U.S. starting April 3, according to an executive order issued by the White House on March 26. Certain auto parts such as engines, transmissions and powertrain and electrical components will also be subject to a 25 percent tariff, going into effect no later than May 3.
