Column: Detroit auto show's return to January is great news for consumers

In 2018, Detroit auto show organizers envisioned the shift to June to include outdoor events in downtown Detroit such as vehicle test drives on the convention hall’s rooftop, concerts and vehicle displays, and presentation space and food trucks near a busy park in the city.

The Detroit auto show's return to its traditional January dates for 2025 may seem like a capitulation, a desperate attempt to stay somewhat relevant or the latest indignity to be suffered by large auto shows.
