Senate fails to reach deal on $2 trillion rescue package; House Dems plan counterproposal

WASHINGTON -- Republicans and Democrats in Congress were negotiating with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Monday in an attempt to reach a compromise on Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s bill worth as much as $2 trillion to help soften the economic blow from the coronavirus pandemic.
