Lexus rolls out new gearbox

The gearbox in the LC 500h is a continuously variable transmission with two electric motors that Lexus then paired with a four-speed automatic transmission that modulates the CVT's output.

GENEVA -- Hidden beneath the svelte lines of the Lexus LC 500h that debuted at the Geneva auto show is a new and innovative transmission design.
