DETROIT -- The legendary Pacific Coast Highway is the inspiration for this year's special edition of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, which the Chrysler group unveiled today.
Blue is the dominant color for the limited production PT Cruiser Street Cruiser Pacific Coast Highway edition. The vehicle has 17-inch, platinum-colored wheels and a chrome grille. The blue theme is carried over to the interior trim.
Power comes from a 150-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, satellite radio, side airbags, accident response system and a fold-flat passenger seat.
The special edition will be available this summer. The base sticker price will be $20,735 for models equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, including shipping. It also will be sold with an automatic transmission for $21,570, including shipping.
Chrysler has sold 79,887 PT Cruisers through July, up 1.6 percent from the same period last year.
