WASHINGTON -- General Motors is recalling about 31,000 Chevrolet Corvettes so they don't blow their tops.
The cars, built for the 2005-06 model years, need better adhesive between a roof frame and roof panel, according to a recall notice disclosed late last week by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
In some cases, vehicle roofs may need to be replaced, NHTSA says.
GM spokesman Alan Adler says the company has gotten 21 reports of roof panels separating from vehicles but no reports of crashes or injuries. He says the composite roof panel is attached to a magnesium frame.
