Volkswagen says its electric vehicle transition is gaining traction. Its growing EV family is outselling Tesla lineup in Germany, the ID7 is filling up order books faster than the Passat, and the ID2 small car will shake up the market, sales boss Martin Sander says. The former head of Ford of Europe was named board member for sales, marketing and aftersales at the VW brand last July. Sander, 57, is bullish about 2025, predicting VW will increase its sales and market share. He outlined his plans in an interview with Automotive News Europe Managing Editor Douglas A. Bolduc on Dec. 9.
