Europe targets 30% of global battery cell production

VW will use part of its factory complex in Salzgitter, Germany, for battery production, working with Swedish company Northvolt. Battery cell production at the plant is scheduled to start in early 2024 with an initial production capacity of 16 gigawatt hours. (Kai-Uwe Knoth)
