The Tesla Model S Plaid edition has three electric motors, with carbon fiber sleeved rotors, producing a total output of 1,020 hp. Tesla says it can accelerate from 0-60 mph (about 100 kph) in 1.99 seconds.

Tesla's Model S performance sedan has returned to the top tier of new electric vehicle registrations in the U.S. at No. 3 for the first two months of the year, displacing the Ford Mustang Mach-E that held the spot for 2021.
