Tariffs threaten to bring North American auto production to ‘screeching halt’

Tariffs of 25 per cent on almost all goods imported into the United States from Canada and Mexico could halt production at assembly and parts plants in all three countries within a week, as the industry’s thin margins make continued production untenable.
