July 01, 2019 04:00 AM

The first fifth-generation Toyota Supra went to one of the automaker's dealers, who paid $2.1 million for the car at an auction benefiting the American Heart Association and military families. John Staluppi, CEO of Atlantic Auto Group, center, last week took possession of Global #1, which has a matte gray exterior, red mirror caps, matte black wheels and a red interior accented with carbon-fiber inserts. Marking the moment with him were, from left, Toyota's Ed Laukes, Marshall Lauck of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Toyota's Bob Carter and Nancy Brown of the heart association. Carter presented Staluppi with a Toyota racing suit (inset) and a signed photo from President Akio Toyoda, who also signed the Supra's engine cover.
