Wholesaler KAR Global decided to completely shut down ADESA and other auction sales for at least two weeks March 20 as the coronavirus pandemic spread in the U.S. It was a noteworthy difference from its main competitor, Cox Automotive's Manheim, which continued to run digital- only auctions in states and cities where it was allowed to do so. That was after both companies announced an almost-overnight switch to all-digital auctions March 16.
