Harman opens infotainment r&d center in Suzhou

SHANGHAI -- Harman International Industries Inc. opened an r&d center in the east China city of Suzhou to develop automotive audio products.The Stamford, Conn.-based company says the center will be Harman's largest audio r&d site worldwide; the company also has two research facilities in the United States and Germany.The supplier said the Suzhou center will coordinate closely with Harman's factory in the same city.The 12,000 square-meter facility will house 350 scientists, engineers and support staff.Harman opened its Suzhou factory in 2006. Customers include BAIC Motors, BYD, Changan, Chery, Geely, Great Wall and SAIC-General Motors.
