Geely to offer electric variants of most models

Geely Automobile Holdings will offer electric powertrains for the majority of its models as the company seeks to meet increasingly strict emissions and fuel-efficiency standards.The Chinese automaker will unveil its electric vehicle plan on Nov. 18 in Guangzhou, ahead of the city's auto show, according to Vice Chairman Yang Jian. Most models in the future will be offered in hybrid, plug-in hybrid or EVs, he said.Automakers have been making investments needed to meet stricter safety and emissions standards that China has scheduled for the next few years.To comply with the tougher requirements, companies have been developing EVs or adding complex fuel-saving features.
