Federal-Mogul forms partnership with Chinese distributor

Federal-Mogul Motorparts, the spare parts division of Detroit-based Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp., formed a joint venture with state-owned Chinese auto parts distributor China Automotive Import and Export Co.The partnership, Federal-Mogul CAIEC Automotive Technology Services (Beijing) Co., will target China's aftermarket vehicle repair business, Federal-Mogul said.The venture will market and distribute spare parts under its own brand name, Motorcare, and Federal-Mogul Motorparts will be a preferred supplier to the joint venture.Federal-Mogul produces a broad range of spare parts for brakes, chassis, wipers and other components. China Automotive Import and Export Co., established in Beijing in 1983, distributes automobiles and parts, as well as mechanical and electrical equipment, textiles, petroleum products and chemical materials in and outside China.
