Mitsubishi to drop Mirage in U.S.

Expand
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. discontinued one of America's most affordable new cars when it pulled the plug on the Mirage in 2023. It was available as a four-door hatchback or sedan. With a starting price of $17,340 including shipping, the subcompact had a singular selling point: efficient transportation at a bargain-basement price. It went on sale in 2013 and U.S. sales peaked at 26,966 in 2019. Mitsubishi, like other automakers, is ditching cars to focus on more profitable light trucks.
