Toyota Motor is spun off from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works

Toyota Motor Co. is established on Aug. 28, 1937, when it is spun off from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, founded by Sakichi Toyoda, an inventor of textile machinery, including an automatic loom.
