BMW tech boss shares keys to big EV lead over Mercedes and Audi

BMW’s first mass-produced full-electric vehicle, the i3, was unlike any car in the automaker’s lineup when it arrived more than a decade ago. The unconventional looks, however, did not appeal to traditional BMW buyers. Sales were disappointing and the hatchback went out of production in 2022.
