Subaru of America employees have begun moving into a new U.S. headquarters, with the majority of them set to start there on May 7.
Subaru's campus in Camden, N.J., is roughly five miles away from its previous main office in Cherry Hill.
"We have called this place 'home' for 50 years, and we are thrilled that we will continue to be a part of the local community we have supported for so long," said CEO Tom Doll in a statement.
Subaru has always been an outlier, anchoring in the Philadelphia area while its Japanese rivals settled in Los Angeles. And Unlike Toyota and Nissan, which have abandoned California for inland states, Subaru has stayed in the region despite breakneck growth.
Subaru broke ground on the 250,000-square-foot site in December 2015. It held a grand opening ceremony on Friday.
A separate, 107,000-square-foot national service training center next door is set to open later this summer, Subaru said.
That will house service training, a service engineering shop and product engineering. Additionally, the Eastern Regional Sales office and Philadelphia Zone office will be on the second floor, Subaru said.
Subaru will have around 600 employees at the Camden site.
The building features green design elements, including LED lights and reclaimed wood wall decor. The landscape features native plants that are drought-tolerant and bird-friendly, which Subaru said reduces irrigation.
