Toyota readies 'talking' vehicles for 2021

Toyota hopes to adopt a dedicated short-range communications systems, allowing vehicles to talk to one another, in the U.S. across most of its lineup by the mid-2020s. (TOYOTA)

WASHINGTON -- Toyota Motor Corp. plans to start selling U.S. vehicles that can talk to each other using short-range wireless technology in 2021, potentially preventing thousands of accidents annually.
