The following is a list of Ford Motor Co. CEOs since the resignation of Henry Ford II in October 1979:

Philip Caldwell, 1979-1985. He died July 10, 2013.

Don Petersen, 1985-1990.

Harold “Red” Poling, 1990-1993. He died May 12, 2012.

Alex Trotman, 1993-1999. He died April 25, 2005.

Jacques Nasser, 1999-2001.

William Clay Ford Jr., 2001-2006. He remains executive chairman of the board.

Alan Mulally, 2006-2014.

Mark Fields, 2014-May 2017

Jim Hackett, named CEO on May 22, 2017
