U.S. auto sales to fall 5.7% in May, LMC and Power say

U.S. new-vehicle incentives are averaging $3,052 this year through April, an increase of 14 percent over 2015 levels, Autodata estimates. U.S. new-vehicle sales have climbed 3.3 percent this year though April and remain on track to increase for the seventh straight year. (DAVID PHILLIPS)

DETROIT -- The days of lofty year-over-year increases in monthly U.S. auto sales may be reaching an end, industry consultants J.D. Power and LMC Automotive said on Thursday.
