Supply chain veteran Doug DelGrosso named CEO of Chassix

Longtime supply chain executive Douglas DelGrosso has been named CEO of Chassix Inc., a precision chassis casting and machining company that emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.He also will serve on the company’s board of directors. His position is effective Jan. 4, the company said in a statement Tuesday.DelGrosso, 54, succeeds J. Mark Allan, who as CEO led the company through its financial restructuring this year.DelGrosso most recently was president and CEO of Henniges Automotive Inc., an automotive sealing and anti-vibration company. The company was sold to AVIC Automotive Systems, a Chinese-based auto supplier. DelGrosso also worked at TRW Inc. and Lear Corp.He spent about 23 years at Lear and was a rising star at the company until he departed as president at age 45 in August 2007. “I am excited to join Chassix, which plays a critical role as a key supplier of important products for automotive manufacturers,” DelGrosso said in the statement. Chassix filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in March. It exited bankruptcy in July in New York. The reorganized auto supplier has been searching for new leadership since the unexpected death of its chairman Richard Newsted at age 58 in November. He was also on the company's board after its reorganization.Chassix was launched in 2013 following the integration of the businesses of SMW Automotive LLC and Diversified Machine Inc.
