McLarty Automotive Group, founded by Mark McLarty and run by former Asbury Automotive CEO Charles Oglesby, is backed by 3 family investment groups:

- Soros Fund Management, the personal investment fund of Wall Street money manager George Soros

- Dale Capital Partners, the investment arm for the Stephen LaFrance family. The family owned 144 drugstores before selling them to Walgreen Co. in 2012.

- The investment arm of the J.B. Hunt family, which owns a trucking and transportation company founded by Johnnie Bryan Hunt.

Wall Street powerhouse Soros Fund Management has made its much-anticipated leap into the U.S. auto retail sector, investing in a group that has just acquired eight stores in Missouri and plans to buy more dealerships.
