GENEVA -- The Bentley Brooklands coupe will be priced around $330,000 when it goes on sale in the United States next year.

Bentley plans to add the limited-edition coupe, based on the Arnage sedan, during the first half of 2008. The luxury carmaker expects to sell just 550 cars globally over the three-year life cycle of the Brooklands.

The United States and Europe will be the biggest markets for the Brooklands, Bentley spokeswoman Liz Ward said. The anticipated price would put it close to the Azure convertible, which also is based on the Arnage.

"This car completes the family," Ward said.

Bentley said the new coupe will have the most powerful V-8 engine it has ever built. The 6.75-liter, twin-turbocharged engine is expected to produce 530 hp.
