Susan Insley is executive vice president and principal of Cochran Group Inc., Columbus, Ohio. She joined the firm in January 1996, bringing diverse experience in high-level corporate decision making, corporate communications, manufacturing operations management, law and congressional affairs. She provides communications counsel to several leading companies in Ohio and the Midwest. Ms. Insley served at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. (Honda) from April 1985 to January 1996. She joined Honda as vice president-corporate planning, responsible for establishing various company operations, including corporate communications, government and community relations, legal and company facilities. For eight years, she directed the company’s relationship with the Transportation Research Center, managed by The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering. Honda purchased the Center, which serves as a principal site for Honda R & D Americas and for multi-purpose motor vehicle testing, from the State of Ohio in 1988. From 1992 to 1995, she served as senior vice president of Honda’s Anna, Ohio, engine and drivetrain plant. In 1995, she was assigned to the company’s headquarters assuming responsibility for administrative and corporate groups and serving on the company’s executive committee. Ms. Insley is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Ohio Northern University College of Law. She is an emeritus trustee and past chair of the Ohio Northern University Board of Trustees, past chair of The Ohio State University Hospitals Board and of the OSU-affiliated MedOhio Health, Inc. Board. She received a Distinguished Service Award from Ohio State in 1997 and an Honorary Doctor of Law from Ohio Northern in 1992. She is a member of the board of directors of Grede Foundries, Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Westfield Group, Westfield Center, Ohio and Camco Financial Corporation, Cambridge, Ohio.
