U.S. lawmakers seek details from EPA on mpg rule changes

The EPA and NHTSA have reportedly prepared a proposal that would likely freeze U.S. fuel economy standards from 2020 through 2026 while asserting that a 1975 federal law pre-empts states from imposing their own emissions standards.
