BMW rushes next X5 into hot segment

The redesigned BMW X5 is expected in late 2017 or early 2018, two years earlier than expected, because of intense competition in the midsize crossover segment. Spy photos show no dramatic change to the exterior. The biggest change will come with the addition of connectivity and semiautonomous driving technology.
