Audi plans electric crossover in U.S. to challenge Tesla

Audi's plug-in hybrid A3 E-Tron, pictured, will likely be joined by a new all-electric crossover, CEO Rupert Stadler says.

FRANKFURT -- Audi AG plans to roll out an electric-powered crossover in 2017 to challenge Tesla Motors Inc. for wealthy, environmentally conscious consumers.
